We asked, “Why are you here?” Our students answered:

“Because it’s fun, and we have friends here.”

“To learn to defend myself.”

“Because everybody helps me when I have a question.”

“I brought my daughter because I heard good things about this school.”

“Master Tak has a good reputation.”

“I want to be a black belt.”

“I want to be a master.”

“Since my son came here, his grades in school have improved a lot, and his behavior at home is dramatically better.”

“I like the confidence you build here, and the loyalty between the master, the instructors, and the students.”

“I like the discipline.”

“Here, respect goes both ways.”

“I like the alertness, the energy, and the excitement I’ve found here.”

“It’s like a family here. Master Tak cares about everyone involved.”

“Master Tak is always available, either teaching or to guide the instructors.”

Adults join for many reasons:

To defeat encroaching weight gain.

To increase fitness. Tae kwon do not only improves muscular condition, but also helps aerobic fitness and circulation.

To relieve stress.

Because their children are having so much fun.

To take the place of working out alone at a gym. Several of our students tell us that coming to tae kwon do three nights a week brings them more physical benefits than an hour or more each day in a gym.

Many children join simply because tae kwon do looks like so much fun (and it is!) Their parents often have other reasons for bringing them:

To help them learn discipline.

To help increase their self-confidence in all situations.

To start them on the road to being able to defend themselves against bullies or other dangers. Tae kwon do is mental preparation, not just physical.

Because the physical discipline of learning a martial art can help with overall discipline at home and in school.

As physical education for home-schooled children.

To help improve balance.

Enhance and enforce the child's learning of the difference between "left" and "right".

To improve and maintain flexibility, improve whole-body strength, improve reflexes.

Come see us! See for yourself the friendship, fun, and hard work. Hear what the students say – ask them why they’re here. We’d love to meet you and answer your questions.
